We are one of the few remaining family owned and operated funeral homes serving the South Florida community. Unlike the large out-of-state chains that exist in the area, many still using "family" in their name, we put your needs first; most chains tend to serve stockholders and investors first. Boyd Family History  Don and Kathy Boyd have been residents of South Florida since 1950. Don worked for several years at Hollywood Mortuary, a funeral home located on Young Circle. Then, in 1958, he and Kathy opened their first funeral home in the then unincorporated area of West Hollywood. Kathy was one of the first women to attend Miami-Dade Community College School of Mortuary Science. She obtained her funeral director's license in 1969, the same year the Boyd's opened their second funeral home in Pembroke Pines. Don and Kathy's two son's, Patrick and Larry, were virtually raised in the funeral industry. Patrick was born in Hollywood, Fla. and attended Chaminade High School. He graduated from, Miami Dade Community College School of Mortuary Science in 1973 and received his license as a Funeral Director/Embalmer in 1975. Currently Patrick is the President and Manager of Boyd's Family Funeral Homes. Patrick is married to Caren and has three children: Dustin, Ashley and Brenna, and one grandchild. Ashley is now one of the support staff members for the funeral home. Starting a third generation in the family business.
After serving with the US Air Force Larry Boyd returned to South Florida and attended Miami Dade Community College School of Mortuary Science in 1975 and received his license as a Funeral Director/Embalmer in 1977. Larry is the company's Vice President /Treasurer and over-sees the financial aspect of the Pre-Need funding activities. Larry is married to Linda, who is the office manager at Boyd's, they have one son, Michael, daughter-in-law Teresa and two grandchildren, Brian and Kayla. The Boyd family places great pride in family and is deeply committed to their community. Because we are family owned and operated, we are sensitive to the needs and care of your loved ones.
